One of the Democratic candidates in New York’s 22nd Congressional District picks up a major endorsement while another candidate drops out. US Senator Chuck Schumer says he’s backing New York State Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi in the 2018 race against incumbent Republican Claudia Tenney (R-22), and already he’s received an endorsement from Senator Charles Schumer. Brindisi has served in the New York Assembly since 2011. Meanwhile Binghamton University professor Patrick Madden announced Monday he’s withdrawing from the race citing Brindisi’s entry into the contest as one reason.
