The Oneonta Farmers’ Market’s popular ‘Breakfast at the Market’ event takes place this Saturday, September 20, 2014, with a healthful breakfast theme featuring free granola parfaits, live music, free balloons and an educational display and activity table hosted by Get Fit Otsego. Main Street will be open for vehicles by 9am after a short closure beginning at 8am for the first ever Bike Otsego event.

Visit the Get Fit Otsego table for free samples of granola parfait made with granola by Simply Sweets and fresh fruit from market vendors and learn about healthful eating and the importance of regular physical activity for children and their families.  Get Fit Otsego will also host the children’s tent this week with fun educational activities and free balloons while supplies last.  Live jazz with the Joe Siracusa Trio is from 10am – 12noon.  Visiting non-profit at the market this week is Huntington Library, promoting library card sign-up week, with free coupons from local businesses for new library card registrations.

Delicious locally-grown foods this week include Deming Farm’s selection of golden sweet and sun sugar tomatoes, plus pumpkins, winter squash, apples, raspberries, melons, leeks, broccoli, sweet corn, garlic, potatoes, shallots, kale, Swiss chard and other greens, grass fed meats and poultry, eggs, baked goods, prepared foods, honey, maple cream and syrup.  ARK Floral will offer potted chrysanthemums and other potted plants as well as their lovely cut flower bouquets featuring brightly colored zinnia combinations.

The Oneonta Farmers’ Market accepts WIC and Senior Coupons.
