We were quite pleased to have Darryl Worley phone in to the morning show Wednesday as he prepares for a show at the Oneonta Theater this Friday, August 9th.  Proceeds of the show will benefit Folds of Honor, an organization that provides assistance to the spouses and children of soldiers killed or disabled in service to our country...

Area country music fans are gearing up for a great night of fun Wednesday, August 7th as Jamie O'Neal will hit the stage at the Chenango County Fair as part of Millenia Entertainment's "Guitars Under The Stars." In addition to being one of Nashville's most respected singer-songwriters, she has a new business venture...

So, once again, I am going to admit to a "guilty pleasure." That would be ABC's country soap opera, "Nashville."  Heck, as a country music fan who was quite surprised at the quality of music coming from a TV show, I am not even going to feel guilty about anxiously awaiting season 2...

Friend of Big Kat Cassidy Lynn called in to the morning show Wednesday to catch us up on some of the good things that have been happening for her in Nashville.  In addition to winning songwriting contests, some of her songs have been pitched to some big name stars, including Miranda Lambert and Kellie Pickler...

Last year, organizers of the 1st Annual Music and Balloon Fest weren't sure how thi9ngs would go or if there would be a second such event.  Well, of course we know now that it was a great day in 2012, and there will indeed be a second annual festival, and this year's event is shaping up to be way bigger and better...

We are fortunate here in the Southern Tier area to have so many talented bands and performers, and on the Fourth of July, you will have an opportunity to see and hear many of them on the same stage. We were joined in the Big Kat studios Monday by Nate Gross, one of the members of the popular local band "Tumbleweed Highway," who were the winners at the recent Battle of The Bands held at the Oneonta Theater.  As a result, they will perform this Saturday, June 15th on the main stage for the Taste of Country Festival at Hunter Mountain. ...

Since Blackberry Smoke was announced as one of the acts performing at the Taste of Country Festival June 13-15 at Hunter Mountain and I plugged them in to a fairly steady rotation, the response from Big Kat listeners who had not previously heard them has been fantastic...
