Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich held a large party Saturday for the Chenango County community in honor of its 100th anniversary.

Along with plenty of food and beverage the event allowed community members who have been affected by the hospital to come out and thank the doctors and staff for many years of service.

In talking about the history of the facility, the daughter of the late Dr. Jacobi, Nancy Mirabitio, spoke of the over 7,000 babies he delivered from 1937 to 1983 and of the many awards he received along the way.

Mirabito says her father loved the community and Chenango Memorial Hospital, and worked tirelessly to make sure health was available to everyone in the community.
