Chief Angelino Honored For Military Service
Norwich City Police Chief Joseph Angelino was recently inducted into the NYS Senate Veterans Hall of Fame. He served in 1991's Operation Desert Storm as a Tank Commander, and in 2003, he participated in the invasion of Iraq as an infantry First Sergeant.
He was wounded twice, once by a roadside bomb, and later during a mortar attack on his base camp. He was awarded two Purple Hearts in 2007.
Today, in addition to his Police Department duties, Angelino serves as the President of the Northeast Classic Car Museum and is a member of the Board of Directors of GHS Federal Credit Union.
When presenting the Certificate of Recognition to Chief Angelino, Senator Tom Libous said "For his entire life, Joe has exhibited the core values of the Unites States Marine Corp, honor, courage, committment."
