Nearly one hundred people turned out this week for a "Business After Hours" networking event at the Chenango County Historical Museum on Rexford Street in Norwich. Sponsored by Commerce Chenango, the gathering was an opportunity for the museum to show community leaders and chamber members the extensive barn restoration project at the rear of the museum. The 19th century building is one of the "Loomis" barns, a building that the infamous Loomis Gang used as a hideout in their heyday.

Volunteers have worked extensively on the project and have the framework in place. The barn will be used as part of the Historical Museum's Agriculture Education Center and as a place to showcase historical farm equipment.

Following the event, NBT Bank presented the museum with a check for 50,000 dollars.
