The prosecution has rested its case in the trial of a former corrections officer from Norwich accused of attempted murder and assault in what’s been characterized by authorities as a racially motivated shooting. Wayne Spratley is accused in the 2015 shooting of Jack Alexander outside a Norwich tavern and according to police, witnesses saw Spratley yelling racial slurs at Alexander. The non-jury trial began last Thursday.
