Area residents know Spring can't be far behind the first Norwich Elks Lodge Chicken barbecue of the season and our friend Jeff Cola tells us it's time! The folks at the lodge will hold their first barbecue this Saturday, March 28th at the lodge on East Main Street. Halves are 7 dollars and dinners, which include baked beans, cole slaw and macaroni salad, are just 9 dollars. Jeff says the chickens should be ready by 9:30 AM.

Also, the Chenango County Department of Public Health has scheduled more rabies clinics, with the next coming on Wednesday, April 22nd from 5:30-6:30 PM at the Guilford Highway Garage on Marble Road. Clinics are free for dogs, cats and domesticated ferrets, with donations accepted. For more information on this and other clinics, call 337-1673 or visit their website.
