We were joined in the studio Tuesday by Stacie Edick of Cornell Cooperative extension, and she told us about a program she is coordinating called "Grow, Cook and Eat." This is the 4th year of the program which is funded by a grant from the Chenango United Way.

Stacie says basically this is a program for anyone who is interested in growing their own food, cooking simple, healthy recipes, saving money, increasing your physical activity, preserving your harvest and improving goal setting habits.

The program includes a community garden plot, gardening classes, cooking and nutrition classes and fitness classes. The program begins March 26th and is limited to 16 participants, so hurry to sign up. Contact Stacie at 334-5841, extension 20 or visit the Cooperative Extension website.  Listen to the entire interview with Stacie by clicking below.
