Harpursville Native Returns To Area With An Awesome Band

Harpursville native Shawn Hawkins joined us in the Big Kat studio with his band mates from "Ben Whisler" Friday and they treated listeners to some great tunes. Shawn, lead vocalist and guitarist Ben Whisler, and fiddle player Tim Hayes set up in the studio and showed why they are quickly gaining an audience up and down the east coast.

The guys met at Belmont University in Nashville with the help of manager Andy Munoz and recorded a song in one of their dorm rooms.  The song is "Where The Moon Shines" and you can hear it at the end of the interview below.  Hard to believe they recorded it in a dorm.

After playing at the Chenango County Fair Friday afternoon, they will play at Nathaniel's Pub in Greene Friday night and they will play at the Hartwick College fair before making their way back towards Nashville.
