It wasn't that long ago that the only choice you had for an alarm clock to wake up in the morning was a wind-up alarm clock with obnoxious dinging bells that would practically give you a heart-attack upon going off.  Then as technology evolved, the clock-radio alarm clock came along, followed by more sophisticated versions with nature sounds, a cd player, sunrise simulation, and basically whatever the imagination could come up with.

The question is, even with all the bell and whistles that you can get in today's alarm clocks, is the alarm clock becoming obsolete with the advent of the smart phone and alarm apps?  After having a conversation with a young coworker who revealed that she has only been using her cell phone as an alarm clock for years, I can't help but wonder how many more people do the same so it's time to find out.  Please answer the poll below.
