Yup, kids can fly for free at Chenango County Airport day this Saturday, June 9th at the Lt. Warren E. Eaton Airport on route 12 in Norwich.  Actually, as part of the full day of events and displays scheduled, kids ages 8 through 17, with parents permission, can take a Young Eagles flight around Norwich at no charge.  That's just a small part of the Airport Day celebration, though.

There is a fly-in breakfast scheduled at 7:30 AM as well as displays from the Civil Air Patrol, Lifenet, New York State Police, and an opportunity for Boy Scouts to earn an America Aviation Merit Badge.

While this is a great event for the entire family, organizers are stressing educational aspects of aviation for the kids, as they want them to get a taste of just how many career opportunities may exist in the aviation field.

In addition to the opportunities to see and fly in airplanes, there will be many community displays, food booths, and more.  This event will be held rain or shine from 7:30 AM to 3 PM at the Warren Eaton Airport.  See you Saturday!
