New Berlin Man Arrested on Multiple Charges

State Police at Norwich arrested a New Berlin man Wednesday on multiple charges.

30-year-old Tory L. Brown was charged with criminal contempt 1st degree (a felony), criminal obstruction of breathing, unlawful imprisonment, criminal mischief, and harassment.

The arrest occurred after troopers responded to a Chenango County 911 call about a dispute at a residence on County Route 41 in Columbus. During that physical dispute, Brown is accused of grabbing the victim by the throat and also damaging their cell phone. Brown was in violation of an order of protection placed against him by the victim earlier.

Brown was arraigned in the Town of Columbus court and sent to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail.
