The Norwich City School District passed a nearly $38.7 million budget by a vote of 309-144. Voters also voted to purchase additional passenger buses for $1.26 million, and one 30-passenger wheel chair bus for $105,000.

Three seats were filled on the school board, two for three years and one yearlong term. Out of the nine candidates for those seats, winners were: W. Howard Sullivan with 285 votes, John M. Klockowski with 238, and George Carnrike Jr.  with 235 votes.
