Beginning Friday New York State law enforcement agencies will conduct a two-week long enforcement and education campaign to prevent drunk and drugged driving. The statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign runs through Labor Day. Officials say while the number of alcohol-impaired crashes are declining drug-intoxication accidents are rising. To combat this increase, New York is offering specialized training for officers to recognize the signs of drug-impaired driving. There are over 275 nationally-certified Drug Recognition Experts statewide.
