This would be a great honor for one of Oneonta's legendary leaders.

Oneonta’s airport could get a new name if the common council approves a recommendation made by a city committee. The airport would be renamed the Albert S. Nader Regional Airport to recognize the former mayor who is the one behind the creation of the airport. A vote on the proposal will take place next week and city officials said if the name is approved, they’ll put forward the funds for new signage.

The Oneonta Airport opened in 1966 and had a big 50th anniversary celebration in 2016 at which Mayor "Sam" Nader was the honorary guest.
