The Oneonta City School District budget easily passed the public vote Tuesday, 494-194.

The tax levy increase is 2.7 percent for the $33.7 million budget.

Oneonta school's budget calls or 15 staff position cuts.

There were also three candidates for three seats on the Board of Education. Bill Grau and Grace Larkin are incumbents, while Melissa Jervis is the newcomer. Marilyn Rosas did not seek another term.

School budgets across the southern tier all passed as well.

Unatego’s budget passed 196-82; Delaware Academy’s spending plan was approved 317-84; Walton voters said yes to their budget 360-161; and the Norwich City School District Budget passed a nearly $38.7 million, 309-144.
