U.S. Representative Richard Hanna is attempting to block the EPA and Army Corps of Engineers from expanding federal regulations that could negatively impact local farmers.

Hanna visited Marshman Farms LLC in Oxford Monday to detail his efforts to prevent the rule change. Hanna explains the problems with the the proposed new regulations:

John Marshman of Marshman Farms in Chenango County commented that more regulation was unnecessary:

The 900-acre Marshman Farm employs about 15 full-time employees and produces 10 million pounds of milk each year, filling a 7,000 gallon tanker every other day which is then transported to New York stores and schools.
