What was supposed to be a fun, happy day celebrating the retirement of Norwich City Fire Chief Tracy Chawgo has taken a somber turn.  An open house had been planned for Wednesday so the community could honor Chief Chawgo's 30 years of service, however word was received late Tuesday that his son, 22 year old Bradley Chawgo was killed in a car-motorcycle collision in the Buffalo area.

According to Niagara County Sheriff's Deputies, Chawgo died after his motorcycle was struck head on by a SUV driven by a 19 year old Niagara Falls resident, who authorities believe fell asleep at the wheel and crossed over into Chawgo's lane.

Bradley Chawgo was a 2013 graduate of Norwich High School.
