The Sidney Central School District is one of 12 statewide awarded grants to increase the use of locally sourced foods in schools. According the Governor Cuomo's office, the district was given nearly $59,000 for their program which will benefit 10,000 students in the 10 districts served by the Delaware, Chenango, Madison, Otsego BOCES. District officials will appoint a Farm-to-School Coordinator and an assistant coordinator to procure local farm products for a NY Thursdays Program. A total of $1 million was awarded statewide benefiting over 219,000 students.
