The 13th-annual Chenango County Dairy Day takes place Saturday in Norwich with a 5K run, parade and activities for all ages at the fairgrounds. One of the most popular activities is back again this year, the 3rd-annual skillet toss to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Chenango County. Audrey Johnson, longtime Habitat advocate explains the game.

“We have a three-and-a-half pound skillet that individual participants will throw down the field and the idea is to throw it as close to the measuring tape as possible and every inch that the skillet lands from away from that center mark is deducted from their total distance,” Johnson said. “We will have a winner for male and female and also children and the ones that have thrown it the longest distance.”

The skillet toss will take place from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Chenango County fairgrounds as part of Dairy Day. The cost is a $2 donation to Habitat for Humanity for its next building project. All ages are invited to participate.
