Back by popular demand, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will present a talk at The Glimmerglass Festival on July 26 at 4 p.m.

Justice Ginsburg will share her passion for opera and her perspective on law in the arts. The program will feature members of the Glimmerglass Young Artists Program enacting selected scenes that deal with law and justice, followed by Justice Ginsburg’s insights.

This is Justice Ginsburg’s sixth time presenting at The Glimmerglass Festival. She last appeared in 2017, when she spoke following a performance of Derrick Wang’s opera Scalia/Ginsburg.

Tickets to this event are currently available to subscribers. Tickets will go on sale to the general public January 28, 2019.

The Glimmerglass Festival is an opera and musical theater company presenting new productions every July and August. The 2019 Festival will feature new productions of Kern’s Show Boat, Verdi’s La traviata, Corigliano’s The Ghosts of Versailles and the world premiere of Jeanine Tesori and Tazewell Thompson’s Blue. The Festival will also present Britten’s youth opera, Noah’s Flood, and an adaptation of Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades. The 2019 Festival runs July 6 through August 24.
