Kaitlyn Jackson joined us by telephone Tuesday morning less than a week after her appearance on the season debut of American Idol. She told us that the actual day of the audition was a long one, nerve wracking for her to be sure, but maybe more so for mom and dad who nervously awaited the judges decision in the hotel hall way...

This week is the kick off to Season 13 of American Idol.  This year's competition is especially exciting for our listening area as two local talents are setting out to win golden ticket to Hollywood.  Kaitlyn Jackson of Norwich, New York, and Ethan Harris of Garrattsville, New York are both competing to be the next American Idol.

After winning the American Idol Experience at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida, Kaitlyn Jackson, will now face now the three judges who could change her life.  Kaitlyn is singing for that golden ticket to Hollywood on American Idol which kicks off on January 15 and 16, 2014 on Fox TV.

Last year, organizers of the 1st Annual Music and Balloon Fest weren't sure how thi9ngs would go or if there would be a second such event.  Well, of course we know now that it was a great day in 2012, and there will indeed be a second annual festival, and this year's event is shaping up to be way bigger and better...

We are fortunate here in the Southern Tier area to have so many talented bands and performers, and on the Fourth of July, you will have an opportunity to see and hear many of them on the same stage. This Saturday, March 16th from 4-6 PM, the Norwich Family YMCA will be the location of the Chenango County Habitat for Humanity's second annual soup tasting fundraiser.  There will be 22 different soups from area restaurants to taste, a Chinese Auction, door prizes, raffles and more all to help Habitat make dreams come true by helping to provide affordable housing to families in Chenango County...
