Residents of Sidney are invited to a meeting to learn about the community's plan to rebuild from flooding and to prevent flood problems in the future.

The annual college soccer exhibition game is scheduled for Saturday, August 24th at Chenango Chargers Field in Oxford.  This years game will feature the Cortland Red Dragons and the Wells College Express. Ground has been broken on a new parcel of land for Sidney's Amphenol manufacturing plant.

A fire in a pole barn Tuesday led to the evacuation of roughly 450 students from Sidney elementary and middle school to the high school gymnasium. School officials say a tractor was destroyed and the barn suffered smoke damage as the cause of the fire may have been the tractors battery but the investigation is ongoing.
