One of the most recognizable voices of the 60's and 70's has been silenced.  It was sad to read that Linda Ronstadt recently revealed in an interview with AARP that she has Parkinson's disease and can not sing anymore.

I was 12 years old when I first played "Different Drum" on my little portable phonograph and proceeded to wear out that '45 over the course of the next year.  As the years passed, not only did I continue to love her music, but, well, she wasn't a bad looking lady, know what I mean?  My college roommate at the University of Maine and I may have had a poster or two of her up in our dorm room.

Ronstadt, who  is now 67 years old, was diagnosed 8 months ago and now uses a wheelchair when she travels and has aid poles to help her walk.

Getting old bites.
