DCMO BOCES recently announced a new computer science program that will be incorporated into the upcoming school year. The program is designed to prepare students to compete globally in a vast computer technology field that requires computational thinking. The introductory course will be available this fall with the opportunity to participate in the full 4 year program.

As a result of a collaboration with the Sidney Central School District, students will have access to the newest technology tools, software and state of the art lab facilities. The program itself is 4 years in length, with successful participants earning 15 credits from Rochester Institute of Technology for the engineering portion and up to 21 in Math, English and other areas.

The program is diverse, with classes in Digital Electronics, Civil Engineering and Architecture, and Biological and Environmental Engineering available to students.

An information night will be held at Sidney Central High School on Tuesday, July 15th. The orientation event is scheduled for 6:30 PM. Interested students should contact their home school Guidance Counselor. To register, call 561-7700, option 3, or click here for more information.
