Bainbridge Girl Competing In National Spelling Bee

The 2019 Scripps National Spelling Bee is underway and a Chenango County home-schooled girl is once again at the competition Washington, D.C.  According to spellingbee.com, Melodie Loya of Bainbridge tied for 18th place in 2017 and tied for 25th place in 2018. Because Loya is currently 14, this will be her last year to be able to compete in this annual competition.  The national bee is in its 92nd year.
