Bassett “Drug Take Back Week” Nets Huge Amount

Last month’s drug take back campaign at Bassett Hospital resulted in 225 pounds of unwanted, expired and unused prescription medicines dropped off. Collection points were operating at Bassett in Coopertown, O’Connor Hospital in Delhi, and FoxCare Pharmacy in Oneonta. Officials say they received more unwanted medications than expected. The drug take-back initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue as medicines that languish in the home are highly susceptible to diversion, abuse and misuse.
