Broome County officials report three new cases of COVID-19 being confirmed March 23, bringing the total number in Broome to five with one death.

County Executive Jason Garnar says two of the individuals are in isolation in their homes, two are hospitalized and the death was reported at Lourdes Hospital late last week.

The Broome County Health Department is continuing to contact anyone who may have been exposed to the individuals who have tested positive.  Updated numbers are being provided at www.gobroomecounty.com/hd/coronavirus as 99 test results are pending.

County officials, meanwhile, are asking for donations of unused personal protective equipment for medical personnel and first responders.

N-95 surgical masks, medical gowns, medical plastic face shields, medical gloves and medical shoe covers can be dropped off at the former Macy’s building at the Oakdale Mall Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.. NO OTHER ITEMS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
