Chenango Arts Council To Offer Grants For Artists and Educators

The Chenango Arts Council has announced that they have grants available for artists, teaching artists, and arts organizations in Chenango, Otsego, and Broome counties.  Two types of grants will be offered, a Community Arts grant and Art Education grants.  Community Arts grants provide support for arts and cultural projects and enable emerging artists and organizations to grow professionally and to enhance culture in communities where they live and work.

Arts Education grants have two categories: K-12 In-School projects and also After School and Community Based Learning Projects.  According to the CAC, grant funds can be used to support arts education projects that take place during the school day in school, and for after school and in community based settings for youth, senior learners, and under served groups.  DEC grants are funded by the New York State Council on the Arts, and awards range from 500 to 5,000 dollars.
