Chris Young burst onto the country music scene in 2006 after winning Nashville Star and signing with RCA Records -- but his time in the spotlight didn't start with the singing competition. Young actually appeared in two country stars' music videos before he ever took the Nashville Star stage.

Young made a cameo in Reba McEntire's "I'll Be" music video in 2000 and later appeared in Buddy Jewell's "Sweet Southern Comfort" video in 2003. Jewell's music video was probably pretty enjoyable for Young, whose scene included a kiss with a pretty young girl. Fans may have difficulty recognizing the future star with long hair, but his handsome profile is a dead giveaway.

Since then, Young has come into his own: He's the star of his own music videos now, and has nine No. 1 singles to his name. Press play on the video above, part of Taste of Country‘s You Think You Know Country? series, to learn more about Young's life and career.
