The A.O. Fox Hospital Foundation hosted its 20th Annual Golf Classic at the Oneonta Country Club on June 24, bringing 27 donors and 140 golfers together to support fundraising efforts for a new ultrasound machine in Fox’s department of surgical services. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, golfers, and guests, the foundation raised more than $50,000 towards the cause.

“We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors who have shown continuous dedication to A.O. Fox Hospital and our community over the years,” says Sarah Abbatine, fundraising coordinator for the A.O. Fox Hospital Foundation. “The weather was beautiful and this year’s tournament was a great success because of the Oneonta Country Club’s terrific staff, A.O. Fox’s 2019 golf committee, and many volunteers.”

Dr. Jonathan Sastic, longtime surgeon who served Oneonta Surgical Associates for more than 34 years, was this year’s honorary recipient of the Sid Levine Award. The award, given each year to an outstanding citizen, symbolizes the high standards and leadership modeled by the late Sid Levine, one of the founding members of the A.O. Fox Hospital Foundation.

Overall winners with a low net score of 54 were the foursome from Bank of Cooperstown: Kyle Liner, Josh Burden, Ray Holohan, and Bob Gouldin, who will have their names engraved on the Doc Lusins Cup. Prizes were also awarded for longest drives, straightest drives, and closest to the pin.

The A.O. Fox Hospital Foundation thanks the following corporate sponsors for their continued support: NYCM Insurance, Fust Charles Chambers, Preferred Mutual Insurance, Compass One, UA Local 112 Plumbers & Pipefitters, NBT Bank, StatStaff, and Medline.
