The Oxford American Legion Auxiliary of Fort Hill Post #376 is getting ready for this year's benefit Harvest Dinner, this Friday, October 12th from 5 PM to 7 PM.  Community members are invited to enjoy a hearty home cooked meal and support the Finch Book and Education club in the process.   The event was started 18 years ago by Sally Finch with the ALA Unit #376 as a way to promote literacy for Oxford youth.  The dinner includes turkey breast, gravy stuffing, potatoes, and more, and costs just 10 dollars for adults, children 6-12,  6 dollars, under 5 free!

Proceeds go to a memorial fund named after Sally Finch, a proud member of the ALA who passed away in 2003 and helped promote programs both locally and nationally.  Her daughters continue to carry on her legacy.  The fund provides revenue for books for the Oxford Academy Primary School students.  To date, the ALA has raised well over 6,000 dollars.

Historic Fort Hill Post #376 is located at 17 S. Washington Avenue in Oxford.  For more information, call the legion at 607-843-8166.
