The 1st annual Twin Tiers International Film Festival will be held at the Kappel Theater in Norwich September 7th, 8th and 9th.  Fifty-two films will be screened over the 3 day festival which will also play host to cinematography and screenwriters workshops.

Two films made by area filmmakers will be screened.  "Smacked! Addiction and Recovery in Rural America" is a feature length documentary written and directed by Jessica Vecchione of Hamden, and documents the addiction problem that has plagued our area and sheds light on the recovery process through local support systems.  The film is nominated for both best documentary and best local film.

The second film, "House Shark," is written and directed by Syracuse area native Ron Bonk.  It is a comedy horror feature about an unknown shark breed that has begun mysteriously terrorizing a homeowner.  This was also nominated for best local film.
