40 Years, serving in the same position, is quite an achievement and Oneonta Town Clerk Cheryl Shackelton, who has been in that position for 40 years, has announced her retirement.  Shackelton's last day as Town Clerk will be May 28, 2019.

Town Supervisor Bob Wood comments that Shackelton's reason for retiring is that "she simply wants to spend more time with her grandchildren."

All this means of course that the Town of Oneonta is currently looking for a replacement for that position.  Those interested in applying should contact either the clerk’s office or the supervisor at 607-432-2900.
