Wednesday evening, the village of Oxford, NY experienced very heavy rain, causing havoc by closing nine roads Thursday morning but it also had a significant impact on Oxford Academy.  School Superintendent Shawn Bissetta stated on the Oxford Academy and Central School District facebook page yesterday that despite the flash flooding in the area, the school district would remain open for regularly scheduled classes, Regents exams, and year-end special events.  The Primary and High School campus sustained some damage to the grounds due to fast moving water.

Although the Oxford weather forecast from the National Weather Service shows dry weather Saturday and Sunday, they have this to say:
"another system moving into the area will bring in the next chances for showers and thunderstorms starting Monday morning, then chances for showers and thunderstorms linger Tuesday through Thursday."
