Legendary singer/songwiter John Prine has died at the age of 73 from complications of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. He died Monday, April 6.

From Rolling Stone, "His family announced about a week ago that he had the virus and was continuing to receive care. Sunday, March 29 in a statement, the family shared he had been intubated on Saturday evening “but his situation is critical.” Prine’s wife, Fiona, gave an update April 2, stating that he was still “very ill,” yet she remained 'hopeful.''"

Prine was a two-time Grammy award winner and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019. After news of his death broke an outpouring of tributes to Prine overtook social media. RIP John Prine.
