Jeff Cola visited us in studio Friday to update us on some upcoming events at the Norwich Elks Lodge 1222.  Tomorrow(Dec 15th) they are sponsoring a Hoop Shoot Free Throw competition for boys and girls ages 8-13.  The competition begins at the local level which is sponsored by the Norwich Elks, with the winners advancing to District, State, Regional, and if they are really good, on to the National Level. There is no charge for the event which takes place Saturday December 15th at St. Bart's Parish Center on East Main St. in Norwich beginning with registration at 12:30.

The lodge is also sponsoring an Americanism Essay contest for 5th through 8th graders. The essay theme is "What Does the National Anthem Mean to Me?" For more information on this contest, call the lodge at 607-334-9261.

Finally, Jeff told us about a free band night at the lodge on December 29th.  It should be fun, as the Beadle Brothers will return to the Lodge for the first time in awhile.  Once again, it's FREE!
