Taste of Country Festival

We are beyond excited to announce that Dierks Bentley and Brantley Gilbert will be joining already-announced Brad Paisley at the 2014 Taste of Country Festival, with more artists to be added!

We were joined in the Big Kat studios Monday by Nate Gross, one of the members of the popular local band "Tumbleweed Highway," who were the winners at the recent Battle of The Bands held at the Oneonta Theater.  As a result, they will perform this Saturday, June 15th on the main stage for the Taste of Country Festival at Hunter Mountain. ...

Get ready for another delicious chicken BBQ from the folks at the Norwich Elks Lodge.  They will be at it again this Saturday, June 8th at the lodge on East Main Street. Halves are 6 bucks, dinners which include cole slaw, baked beans and mac salad, are 9 dollars...

Since Blackberry Smoke was announced as one of the acts performing at the Taste of Country Festival June 13-15 at Hunter Mountain and I plugged them in to a fairly steady rotation, the response from Big Kat listeners who had not previously heard them has been fantastic...

On  May 10th, The Norwich Merchants Association and Matthews Ford Lincoln will present a Friday Night street festival with a car and bike Cruise-In at Howard Johnson's in downtown Norwich. Trophies will be awarded, so come and vote for your favorite from 5:30-8:30...

This Saturday, April 27th marks the 20th annual "Tree City USA" Arbor Day celebration at the Lafayette Park bandstand in Oxford.The ceremony begins at 9 AM with a proclamation, prize presentations to 3 Oxford Academy 5th grade poster contest winners and a give away of 200 seedling trees...

Our friend Jeff Cola from the Norwich Elks Lodge has informed us of another delicious chicken BBQ coming up.  Saturday, April 20th get halves for 6$ and dinners for 9$. Dinners include cole slaw, baked beans and macaroni salad. Chicken will be ready to serve by 9:30 AM...

Here are a couple of events to put in the daily planner for April and May. First, there will be an all you can eat pancake breakfast Saturday, April 20th at the North Norwich Fire Station from 7-11 AM, with free will donation. Also coming up in May, a day that many in the area look forward to...
