Toys For Tots

It seems too early to think about the holiday season but not when it comes to planning to serve area families in need so that children can have a wonderful Christmas.

Time is running out to enter your team in the Toys For Tots golf tournament. Just a few openings left as there is a 20 team limit for the captain and crew event.

Time to get your foursome registered for the annual Toys For Tots Golf Tournament. This year's tournament will be held at Canasawacta Country Club on Friday, September 14th.

Dennis Rifanburg, a volunteer for the local Toys For Tots campaign joined us in the Big Kat studios Wednesday to thank everyone who has helped the program recover from last week's fire.  As you probably know, a storage facility was destroyed by fire in Norwich last week, and one of the storage containers had around 8,000 dollars worth of toys in it that were scheduled to be distributed in Chenango

Due to a fire in a storage facility last week, the Chenango County Toys for Tots program lost about $8,000 worth of toys.

The annual golf tournament to raise money for Toys For Tots is scheduled for August 9th at Canasawacta Country Club. The format is Captain and Crew and will tee off with a shotgun start at 9 AM. Organizer Dennis Rifanburg joined us in the Big Kat studios and told us hole sponsors would be greatly appreciated for what is this year called "The Blarney Stone Open...

Sherburne's 21st annual Holiday Parade steps off this Saturday, December 1st at 1 PM. The parade will feature local Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, clubs, school groups, businesses and fire departments. Of course, Santa will be there for his annual visit to the firehouse...

Wow, the 2012 Parade of Lights in downtown Norwich is just 3 weeks away.  Organizers, including the Norwich Merchants Association and Business Improvement District are looking to make this year's parade bigger than last year's event, and that's a lofty goal...
