Of all the acts scheduled to appear at the Taste of Country Music Festival in June, one that really intrigued me was "Blackberry Smoke."  Mostly I guess because I wasn't that familiar with the band, so I decided to become familiar with them, and boy do I like what I have heard.

After listening to some of their tunes, I think they have become one of the acts I look forward to seeing the most, along with Trace Adkins and Montgomery Gentry.  I didn't realize they had been around as long as they had, having released their first album in 2004.  Recently they have toured with two of my faves, Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top, and did a benefit with the cast of maybe the best show on TV, Sons of Anarchy.

Check out a couple of their tunes. It is definitely good stuff! "Up in Smoke" is incredible and will give you an idea why their live shows get such great reviews and their cover of Skynyrd's "Down South Jukin" is great.  And be sure to go to the festival web site for all the lodging, camping and ticket info you'll need.
