Tioga Man Arrested for Possessing Child Porn

On Thursday, March 6th, State Police in Owego arrested 73-year-old Merwin “Butch” Crowe for possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.

The arrest is the result of a search warrant that was carried out by members of the NY State Police Computer Crimes Unit and Bureau of Criminal Investigation. The arrest was made at Crowe’s residence located on Howard Hill Road in the Town of Candor, Tioga County.

Crowe was issued an appearance ticket instructing him to appear in the Town of Candor Court on March 17 and released.

The investigation is continuing.
