There are certain events that have occurred during our lifetime and we will never forget what we were doing when it happened or when we first heard about it.  If you are old like me, one of those days is November 22nd, 1963.  I was in first grade at Johnson Elementary School in Nahant, Massachusetts when Mrs. Ruth tried to delicately explain what had happened to the President of the United States. Another, of course, is September 11th, 2001. I was doing the morning show at WZOZ with the late Terry Doyle when a listener phoned in and said something big was happening in New York.  Mr. Johnson brought in a TV and we proceeded to watch tragedy unfold.  And then there was August 16th, 1977.

I was in Bangor, Maine, driving my baby blue Mustang convertible looking for an apartment for the upcoming school year when the news came over the radio....the "King" had died.  Admittedly, it didn't affect me all that much as I was never a big Presley fan, but I remember the moment quite vividly.

With all that said, did you ever wonder what might have been had these events not occurred?  Stephen King did quite eloquently in his novel "November 22nd, 1963."  What if Elvis had substituted tofu for all those peanut butter, bacon and banana sandwiches?  You've got to check out what this blogger imagined the world would be like if "Elvis had never left the building."
