So a couple of weeks ago, Traci and I were talking about our favorite memories as a morning show team. We've been together for almost ten years and we were going to do our top 10 memories but we ended up with a lucky 13.

One of our favorite memories was having the chance to meet Troy Gentry when Montgomery Gentry was in town several years ago. I've actually had a chance to meet him twice. The first time was when they were just starting out and they were playing at the Delaware County Fair in Walton in 1996.

I remember them saying on stage that they were "going to party all night long." The show ended at 10:30 and I turned to my friend and said "I thought they were going to party all night long?" His answer: "They didn't say it was going to be with us."

Fast forward twenty years to 2016 and the Toytota County Lights Festival at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton. They hadn't had a hit in five years and they could have been a bitter band.

I've met other country stars in the past that were in the same situation and they acted like the last place they wanted to be was in Binghamton. That was NOT the case for Troy Gentry. He and Eddie Montgomery couldn't have been kinder.

T-Roy (that's what Eddie calls him, listen to their song "Our Town) was making some positive changes in his life and seemed to be enjoying it more. We were all so happy for him.

Unfortunately, Troy Gentry died in a helicopter crash on Friday, September 8th, 2017 at the age of 50. I can't believe that it's been three years already, wow, how time flies. His sudden death reminds us that our life is but a vapor and we never know when it's going to come to an end.

As it's been said in a book that I trust very much, "we don't know what will happen tomorrow." He left way too soon and it may seem senseless, so maybe his passing can teach us an important lesson. Let the little inconveniences of life go and don't be afraid to let those you care about know how you feel.

We miss you T-Roy. So if you knew that today was going to be your last day, what would you do?
